Gothic Smudgy Eyes - Chanel Couture 2013

The Chanel Couture Spring 2013 presented quite a  stunningly chaotic collection this year. Apart from that, I just LOVE how Peter Philips, director of Chanel makeup put on an interesting beauty trend for this collection.

Dramatic Gothic eyes decorated with feather, lace and tulle materials to mimic the 19th-century hair rags and fingernails painted in pinky beige hue. The hair was done in a perfectly messy updos decorated with dramatic hair accessories.

The overall look from my point of view ... unstructured, dishelleved yet beautifully worked.

Black Eyed Virginia - Rhinestone Sterling Silver Earings

The beautiful and flamboyant Countess of Castiglione, Virginia Oldoini has always been an inspiration, and this piece was inspired by her. Although she was describe as having eyes that constantly changed color from green to an extraordinary blue violet, this piece was named so for her admiration towards black during her declining years and her evolving life from a self conscious doll to a morbid mourner.

The Black Eyed Virginia Earrings was meant for those fashionista's that seek something uniquely quirky, evocative and fun in their jewelry collection. It features a mystique Jet round cab with faceted edges that is adorned with a single peach rhinestone in the center and positioned in a fine silver (999) wire work frame.

Below are curves of sparkling clear glass and AB Swarovski rhinestone chain enhanced with luxurious hand dyed silk floss, each knotted with a Fuchsia Swarovski bicone bead.

The earring post is embellished with a luminous dreamlike Pink Opal Sabrina vintage rhinestone surrounded with clear glass rhinestone and set in sterling silver (925) with a fancy daisy sterling silver clutch stopper.

Lenght ~ 2.4" (Top of earring post to the bottom fringes)
Wide ~ 1.5" (The widest of the fringes)

Couture Vs Wire Wrap

What happens when you have a passion for couture and wire-wrap? Well, I combine them and found my own piece of style. It's fun, carefree and I am so much happier now that I can create within my budget range. :)

Here are the two that I have listed in the shop today...

The Sweet Serenity Earrings

The Belladonna Earrings

All pieces are handcrafted from quality rhinestones, silk, feathers, 18K gold / pure silver threads and sets with sterling (925) and fine (999) silver.

Beloved of the Moon

I'm not a die-hard fan of the movie 'Twilight' but the minute I laid my eyes on Bella's moonstone ring, I instantly fell in love with it. As I browse through Etsy, I found this ring amongst many to be my favorite which I bought from Katherine Y. Startup. Katherine is a talented jeweler and she creates wonderful pieces from precious gemstones and her own mixed of sterling silver (925).
