Another Year

Another Year

I'm wishing you another year

Of laughter, joy and fun,

Surprises, love and happiness,

And when your birthday's done,

I hope you feel deep in your heart,

How very much you mean to me,
More than you can know.

Happy Birthday *Honey*...Muah!

Boudoir D'Huitres Rocks!

Boudoir D'huitres Fall/Winter 2010 collection is all about the exploration in opulence, mystery & deep intrigue and it was fabulously presented with beautiful opera melody while the models did a fierce catwalk in powdered hairdos (aka Marie Antoinette), gorgeous rose knuckle rings and extravagant studded boots! The collection was inspired by the dark whimsical undertones of Mozart's 18th century masterpiece "The Magic Flute" while ebony, cream and crimson made up the color palette for Mimi Plange, the Designer.

Boudoir D'Huitres presented Victorian meets the New Millennium. Here's some of my personal favorites for your viewing pleasures...

Blog Of Desire

It has been weeks since I have not been delving into jewelry-making. Waiting is such an agony, especially when you’re expecting the arrival of your new supplies and can’t wait to realize a new piece in mind, or rather on my sketch book to be precise. But wait, I do have some few antique brass materials from my previous works that have been kept for quite sometime now. Maybe I’ll put a great use to it for some new pieces.

Anyway, while adjusting a few settings on my blog, I came across the *Blogs of Note* section on the dashboard (have you ever notice that?). There, I found a few interesting blogs but this one captures my attention particularly and worth reading My Marrakesh. Click on the fabulous typewriter for the fabulous link..

The beautiful Maryam is a human rights & democracy specialist trotting the globe by day, a builder of Peacock Pavilions dream guest house in Marrakesh by night and a blogger of fabulous Middle Eastern culture beautiful, exotic and out of the ordinary.

Shots from My Marrakesh

Marrakesh, once was the imperial city of Morroco also known as the "Red City" is ethnically diverse with rich culture & civilization coming from the East (Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Jews & Arabs), South (Sub-Saharan Africans) and North (Roman, Vandals and Andalusians). It's one of the compelling places on earth. Although the fervor and the food seduces you, it’s also a place of solace & peace. Despite it’s modernization, there are places where time has literally stood still and that in itself is a wonder.

Her blog is quite addictive if I must warned you, but I thought it is something that I should share...

And so, I'm leaving you with some of my little Marrakesh moments...:)

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Romantic Sunday

Sunday morning always gives me the feeling of sweet romance. And I happen to found this oh so romantic lace tights that gives a luxurious vintage look to ones ensemble. I found this at Plumo Lace Tights | For Detail, See. It offers an intricate crochet flower pattern that is so subversively sexy. Compliments so well with my fabulous La Casati Cuff Bracelet as well! What a funky spin...

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Fluffy Pink Clouds

The center attraction of this lovely pair of earring is the swirl motives oval frame, fabricated from sterling silver 925 wires. I was quite satisfied with my endeavor to fabricate the nicety of the '3D' frame, caging those super gorgeous AAA Mystic Pink Quartz Onion Briolette.

Beneath the frame, you'll see waterfalls of dreamy Moonstone Rondelles with spirally locks pins, teeny tiny Seed Pearls, sparkling Swarovski Crystals of Light Rose & Vintage Rose AB and finished with a single drop of pretty in pink Mystic Topaz Oval Beads. The mixture of these gemstones really enliven the beauty of this earring.

Fluffy Pink Clouds measure approximately 3" from top of the irresistible sterling silver ear-hook which was made by me. Elegant & royalty design that is totally lightweight & comfortable on your ears.

Coco before Chanel

Audrey Tautou portray as Coco Chanel, who began her life as headstrong orphan, and through an extraordinary journey became the legendary couturier who embodied the modern woman and became a timeless symbol of success, freedom and style. The film portrays the formative years of Chanels life, the years of Chanel spent discovering and inventing herself.

The Merry Widow Earring

I might not be the expert in the era of the 1920's but I certainly admire & passionate about the culture, lifestyle and most of all, the exquisite jewelries & accessories. Constantly looking for inspiration from that decadent era, I came across this super stunning portrait of Mea Murray (The Merry Widow 1926), an icon of the roaring twenties (yet another one of my muse). Notice that her earring was the inspiration for my next piece...

The Merry Widow Earring marks a new line of designs that soon to become a signature look for Diamond Dolls Couture pieces.

The Merry Widow was hand-sculpted from the sterling silver 925 to form a wavy diamond-shape frame, embellished with lace-like organic swirl patterns. It was a wonder & fun to create especially the hand sculpted cap that tugs the luscious Blue Chalcedony. Layers of elaborate sterling & fine silver wires have been used in the capping that went perfectly well ( I think) with the lacy background.

Down under the cap is where you'll find triplets of dazzling AAA Micro-faceted Mystic Topaz, glimmers with every movement, as well as the drop of chain with a single glint of AAA plus gem grade Sky Blue Topaz Briolette.

The earring drops approximately 3.5" from top of the sterling silver leverback with a 1" wide.
It is absolutely lightweight & very much comfortable to wear.
