A Dash of Eccentricity

Decadent shades of purple, pink & gold are the color palette I chose for this magnificent earring. A dash of eccentricity is a one-of-a-kind earring hoop displaying details of wire-work with equally stunning beautiful gemstones – a tribute to Marchesa Luisa Casati.

The earring structures are made from sturdy oxidized sterling silver wires that has been hammered, shaped and coiled neatly with precious AA AMETHYST, dazzling PINK MYSTIC TOPAZ FACETED BEADS and beautiful scrollwork of fine silver and sterling silver… while lovely daisy spacer dotting each end of the frame.

Moving downwards, suspended from the wing-like curves is marvelous diamond-esque FOOL’S GOLD PYRITE RONDELLES that I love so much paired with clusters of AMETHYST BRIOLETTE and RONDELLES on both wings.

Hanging gaily below, you’ll find the attractive AA GRAPE CHALCEDONY FAT HEART BRIOLETTE with its exquisite colors of purple…it’s very breathtaking indeed!

The earring drops down gloriously at 2.25” from the top of hoop and sways 1” in diameter. Extremely lightweight & comfortable to wear despite the opulent and heavy motives design.

A Dash of Eccentricity belongs to { DOLLYBIRD DECADENT } collection, showcasing a bejeweled fusion of dramatic and bold jewelry infused with the essence & eccentricity from the 1920’s.

A Christmas Star

A diamond shines no brighter
than that lovely Christmas star.
It shines in all its brilliance;
it's seen from near or far.
A symbol of the Christ child
as He lay upon the hay,
It tell to all the waiting world
a King was born that day.

O Bethlehem Star keep shining -
give us faith and hope and love.
Keep our thoughts forever turning
to the Savior up above.
Give us strength and hope and courage
to do our best by far
And never falter in our faith
as we watch that Christmas star...

....Wishing all a very Happy, Merry Christmas...

La Casati

She was painted, sketched, and photographed by seemingly just about every famous artist in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Marchesa Luisa Casati has been many things to many people. The eccentric, flame-haired beauty who wore snakes as necklaces and pranced cheetahs in diamonds collars through the streets of Paris, Milan and Capri played living muse to Man Ray and Salvador Dali, and she's inspired countless contemporary designers including me!

Inspires by the famous painting of Giovanni Boldini's Marchesa Luisa Casati, with a Greyhound (last picture), I created this opulent cuff piece that looks absolutely stunning in person! A showstopper definitely! La Casati is composed from oxidised sterling silver and fine silver wires that display an elaborate craftmanship of wirework and embellished with rich opulent gemstones as below:-

~ AAA Myztic Black Garnet Elongated Teardrop
~ AA Grape Chalcedony Fat Heart Briolette
~ AA Purple Amethyst Faceted Rondelles
~ Rough Uncut Diamonds
~ Amethyst Faceted Briolettes
~ Spinel Rondelles
~ Mystic Topaz Faceted Pink Oval Beads
~ Fools Gold Pyrite Faceted Rondelles
~ Thai Sterling Faceted Beads

What I love about this creation is the details of exquisite gemstones skirts that move oh so delightfully with every part of your movements and also the changing color of those magnificent AA Grape Chalcedony fat heart briolette ranging from dark purple to light magenta, depending on lights!

Dramatic, opulent, very decadent and extremely comfortable to wear, this wrist wrapper best suits wearer with 5.5” to 7” wrist. La Casati frame measures 3” across the wrist with a 2” width. Whilst the sterling silver bubble chains and the charming S-Hook (made by me) enables her to be adjusted snugly on the wrist all the way to 8.5”.

Through the Looking Glass

Tim Burton’s upcoming Alice in Wonderland Through the looking glass is a sure-to-be-unique film. Casting young actress Mia Wasikowski as Alice, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, the beautiful Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and the lovely Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.

I can't wait to watch the movie!

Key to Wonderland

Here it is, my key pendant necklace {Key to Wonderland}. A 2 days work that turn out to be quite satisfying and a pleasure to made! It is composed entirely by oxidized sterling silver wire, designed and manipulated to form a key-like frame. I wanted to create a simple yet dramatic pendant so opt for a simpler white color.

Blossoming in the center of the frame is a magnificent opal briolette with a beautiful yellowish opalescent. Truly magical! Adorning her crown are glorious pyrite rondelles and genuine rough DIAMONDS - for a dash of glimmer.

This pendent is richly embellished with patterns of scroll-work and encrusted with remarkably luscious seed pearls, dreamy moonstone rondelles and lovely cubic zirconia charms.

To offset the dark patina color, I've outlined the outer frame with tiny sparkly sterling silver Thai beads (un-oxidized) that truly brings out the charisma of this creation. Key to Wonderland necklace has a delicate small oval link chain connected to links of moonstone rondelles and a petite ametrine brio that measures 23" together with an S-hook sterling silver closure.

What do you readers think? :)

Finally, after a whole week of waiting, I manage to grab an Etsy treasury slot, {The Twelve Days of Christmas}, a few selection of gifts ideas for this coming Christmas. Check it out...

Amberlly

Before I fell immensely in love with wire wrapping, I was addicted to beadwork jewelry and still is. Back then I created some beadwork pieces using Swarovski crystals and seed beads which are available at my other shop Amberlly.

Here are some of my work from the shop...
